Sedley’s Easter Garden Competition Showcases Creative Student Displays

This Easter, Sedley’s burst into bloom with colour, creativity, and community spirit as students took part in the eagerly anticipated Easter Garden Competition. The challenge? To design a vibrant display that captured the essence of Easter. With the simple brief to represent the spirit of Easter as much as possible, students set to work, producing a range of imaginative and meaningful garden scenes.

The entries were a delightful mix of tradition and creativity. From hand-painted Easter eggs nestled among fresh moss to cheerful chicks and hopping rabbits peeking out from handmade burrows, each garden brought a unique interpretation to life. Many included classic Christian symbols, such as crosses, empty tombs, and rays of light, reminding viewers of the resurrection story at the heart of the celebration.

Signs of spring were also in full bloom – daffodils, tulips, and blossoming branches appeared across the entries, alongside pastel-coloured decorations that brightened even the greyest day. Each creation radiated warmth and joy, echoing Easter’s themes of renewal and hope.

The judge was thoroughly impressed by the level of thought, effort, and craftsmanship on display. It was clear that students had poured their hearts into their entries, using everything from natural materials to recycled crafts to express the season’s meaning. Choosing winners was no easy task!

Beyond the competition, the event offered a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on Easter’s message and express it through art and nature. The gardens sparked conversation, brought smiles, and created a shared sense of celebration throughout the school.

Congratulations to all who participated, your Easter gardens truly captured the season’s spirit!
